While the course focused on helping us master R, Python, Statistics, Mathematics and Algorithms as part of the intense curriculum, we also participated in real-time industry projects, guest lectures and workshops that helped us build an expertise in the field.
Dr Abhijit Dasgupta, Director – Big Data & Visual Analytics, was a source of constant support and motivation along with every other faculty member we studied with during the course. I participated in several grooming sessions and mock interviews with them that helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses. All this constant help went a long way in making me confident and positive in my skills.
During the course, we were exposed to different subjects like Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Python, R, SQL, and Tableau. This significantly helped me develop skills like coding on Python/R and SQL and build an intuition for algorithms.
We had tremendous support with mock interviews and stage presentations. Apart from this, several SP Jain alumni came over to share their experiences of real-world business problems. This helped me a lot in understanding what to expect from an interview.
I completed my graduation with a specialisation in Mathematics in March 2018. After this, I started looking for some exciting professional courses which would help add an edge to my skillset. SP Jain’s Big Data & Visual Analytics (BDVA) program stood out for me – it was a short and crisp program which also included industry projects and gave us hands-on experience in coding, algorithms, mathematics, and statistics. The course allowed us to specialise in Marketing or Finance, helping us tailor our degree as per our interests.
体育投注网平台In just 6 months, the program managed to transform me completely. The course was structured in three modules. The first 2-month module focused on basics like Maths and Statistics, while the next two months delved into advanced courses like Machine Learning, Python and R, SQL, Data Structure, Algorithms, and more. In the last module, we had to choose a specialisation – Finance or Marketing.
With roughly 3 years of work experience in the IT industry as a Systems Engineer, I joined SP Jain’s Big Data & Visual Analytics program in early 2018. The course played a huge role in helping me gain proficiency in Python and SQL. The program not only helped me learn Machine Learning, Statistical Modelling and Data Visualisation, but also helped me improve my public speaking skills.
